I’m Ezra Waalboer.

Software Engineering was not something I ever dreamed about when I was little. I always wanted to do something with Mechanics. As a child, I watched car repair shows and motorbike creation shows on the Discovery Channel and read books about airplanes. After high school, I tried out a Bachelor's program called Engineering, Design, and Innovation, and finished an MBO in Mechatronics, only to discover during the internships that it was not a perfect fit.

One of the things I liked during my earlier experience was programming PLCs. A PLC is a part of a machine that controls the machine. Based on that experience, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's in Informatics, which turned out to be a great fit. I loved the programming and problem-solving that came with it.

During my Bachelor's, I interned at a company called DTT, where I started as an intern and later as a part-time developer, building the backend software for the apps they were creating.

For my graduation project, I worked at the company I am currently employed with, Touchtribe. Here, I specialized in building the backends for commerce systems and CMS development. Initially, this involved using monolithic architecture, but later we transitioned to composable architecture.
